Web-based Surveys

TTRSA have considerable experience in all aspects of web-based surveys, although the success of such surveys still follows the basic principle of a well designed questionnaire.  TTRSA offer the end user a complete, reliable and well tested service, with full in-house capabilities including:

  • survey design;
  • sample framework design;
  • survey scripting;
  • survey hosting;
  • quantitative, qualitative and spatial analysis; and,
  • customised reporting.

We can also ensure that surveys match your in-house design standards, including those related to accessibility.

The design of our web-based surveys ensures the integrity of responses, and allows customisation of the survey that the respondent sees, based on their answers to previous questions, allowing for seamless structuring of the survey focused to the individual survey respondents.

The security of web-based surveys is often a concern to end users.  TTRSA can offer a range of security solutions to ensure that each survey has appropriate balance of access security for survey completion, whilst maintaining full security of the data entered.  Our team also have considerable experience of identifying and reporting irregular patterns of survey completion and regularly monitor the completion of web-based surveys in real-time

Advantages and Disadvantages

The main advantages of web-based surveys are the prompt speed of delivery and relatively low cost per survey, mainly due to savings in data coding and processing.

The main disadvantage of web-based surveys, particularly for the public sector is the ongoing lack of internet access both within some geographical areas and within certain sub-groups of the community.  This usually means that web-based surveys are undertaken in parallel with traditional paper-based surveys, still offering at least some of the speed and cost savings whilst ensuring that the surveys are accessible to all. We use the same software for coding paper-based surveys allowing for complete integration of web-based and paper-based responses.
